Post card from Sawrey village ( Lake District) 2003

Absorbed in my work in Sawrey village

My first travel trip away from home was to meet up with 5W members (www.womenwelcomewomen.org.uk ) in a small village of Sawrey near Ambleside, the village made popular by Beatrix Potter. There were about half a dozen of us gathered to spent time sewing up a big wall hanging made of a small pieces of textile art work sent from the members across the world. There was time for me to relax amongst other ladies and there was time to absorb my self in the work and forget the world around me and there was time to be alone to reflect on life in peaceful and beautiful surroundings. It was good start to my new life alone.
