Post card from Orkneys ( Scotland ) 1993

Earl's Palace in Kirkwell

The year 1993 kicked off with a long drive through tons of monsoon like rain all the way to Scotland. We took  the scenic route of the East coast, stopping at places like the holy Island of Lindisfarne, St Cyrus beach and finally to John of Groat for a must have photo shoot and then boarded a boat to Kirkwall.

Once we reached Kirkwall we lived our lazy days in a slow lane taking time to visit well preserved Neolithic village on the edge of the bay of Skaill and enjoying the isolation the Island offered, meeting the cows and saying hello to the seals!! We were pleased that the rain decided to stop for us and found it strange to have to go to sleep in the evenings in broad day light, the sun refused to set in summer; strange but true natural phenomenon of the Northern Hemisphere!

Our return journey brought us back home via another scenic route, of the west coast of Britain visiting places like the Lock Ness, Fort William and Glasgow, the Lake District and Wales. Magical times indeed!!
