Post card from S'Algar ( Menorca) 1997

Cricket being played in S'Algar

Menorca is one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea and it belongs to Spain. It is a popular cheap holiday resort for most Brits and has a proper cricket team but not so proper pitch to play on? My husband and I travelled there with another cricket team from England (cheaper end of the cricket market) and watch good players having difficulty on unprepared pitch, I guess it takes all sorts to make a cricket world?

Besides watching the games we had time to experience Spanish life where waiters looked and acted like Manuel from TV programme “Fawlty Towers”. We had time to swim in the beautiful blue sea which overlooked our hotel and also catch the local bus to travel to nearby town of Mahon, the capital of Menorca, on the whole I could get use this life....it was all worth it.
