Post card from Germany again.... August 2007

I and Saba at the wedding day in Bavaria

Back to lovely Germany again and this time to Munich the capital of Bavaria where my Bangladeshi girl friend Saba married her lover, a Bavarian German in his village outside the city. I introduced myself as Saba’s surrogate mother, a title I carried with pride for two days. I enjoyed the whole experience, the carefully orchestrated German style wedding where everything was planed with military precision. The flights were received on time, the accommodation for all the guests were arranged on time, the food for two days was served on time, the wedding ceremony was on time and when the wedding party was over at six the following morning all the guests had their breakfast and left the village without any hiccup!

All the guests who attended" The Wedding of the Century Part One" were asked to wear their national outfit; the groom wore his lederhosen and the bride Saba with her sari, looked beautiful, however underneath the smile was sadness she felt for her family and her friends who were unable to afford or obtain travel visa to attend her wedding.
